  • Year Zero isn’t the best, this podcast could be

Entertaining and engaging hosts that despite being self proclaimed Free League shills are a fantastic source of general rpg information and news. I do blame their Year Zero enthusiasm for my increasing collection of Free League products that I rarely play due to my apathy towards the Year Zero Engine.

  • After years of playing heroic fantasy RPGs I was looking for something else, and then I discovered Free League's wonderful suite of RPGs. Then I went looking for content to support this newfound thirst. I was lucky enough to discover the Effekt podcast, two brits talking about Free League games, but also other games and themes relating to this wonderful hobby.

David and Matthew, as they affectionately (?) full-name each other are a friendly, open minded and welcoming duo, who offer an easy list... more

  • Effekt(ed) pod

As someone who returned to RPG recently, from discovering the deep joy of the AlienRPG, these guys run an informative and fun magazine show discussing many aspects of the RPG scene. There amusing banter filled episodes are a great way (back) into the RPG world in addition, they raise and discuss many aspects of RPG including game design and what’s new in the industry. Highly Recommend.

Return to the Third Horizon
Q: Tell us about your life in gaming, Kevin.
Kevin shares a lifelong journey with tabletop RPGs, starting at age 13 with AD&D and Star Wars, moving through contributions to Chaosium, White Wolf, and other publishers, and eventually immersing himself in Coriolis and the Third Horizon as a creator of community content and campaigns. He explains how the Third Horizon's density of ideas fuels his writing and how he's channeled that passion into campaigns like The Serpent and Diamond Sands, while balancing freelancing with steady creative output.
We Could Be Heroes
Q: Why was Invincible chosen for the RPG?
Tomas explained that Invincible is a younger comic universe compared to Marvel or DC, allowing more freedom in character creation within the RPG.
