It’s one of those podcasts that draws you right into the guests’ inner world, as if they were inviting you to share their conversation and step into their universe. Thanks to the talent and upbeat energy of the host, Caroline, whether you’re deeply familiar with guitarist John Scofield and bassist Dave Holland or just know them by name (in episode #60), you’re in for a warm, insightful, and musical moment. A slice of conviviality, of friendship- a slice of History.
Unlike ECM music, the interviews are recorded poorly and the speakers are difficult to understand. Use lapel mics instead of a bony single room mic. Unsubscribed.
I am ECM collector from the start, the highest standard in recorded music.
Oddly, these podcasts do not always have excellent quality between interviewer & guests. Sometimes painful to listen to, distortion, etc.
Nonetheless, a view into the rareified
world of peerless artistry.
A wonderfully refreshing podcast about a label that has truly given space for what the music is saying, rather than what the humans making it think it should be about.
The only podcast I listen to at regular speed :)
