  • Poor sound quality

Unlike ECM music, the interviews are recorded poorly and the speakers are difficult to understand. Use lapel mics instead of a bony single room mic. Unsubscribed.

  • Sound

I am ECM collector from the start, the highest standard in recorded music.

Oddly, these podcasts do not always have excellent quality between interviewer & guests. Sometimes painful to listen to, distortion, etc.

Nonetheless, a view into the rareified

    world of peerless artistry.

  • Ronan Skillen

A wonderfully refreshing podcast about a label that has truly given space for what the music is saying, rather than what the humans making it think it should be about.

  • Love the podcast, but interviewer needs to let the artist do the talking

Love the podcast. Have loved ECM since 1975. One quibble: the interviewer for the Zsófia Boros talks too much, and finishes her sentences, and even veers into mansplaining. Very distracting and disrespectful to the artist. Let her speak. Boros is perfectly fluent in English and needs no translation or interpretation by the interviewer. The interviewer should listen to the podcasts by Eleanor Wachtel at CBC, “Writers

It's something that I came up with in 2002 while feeling composer-blocked, and I devised a method of pulling notes from a hat and completing compositions within a set timeframe to overcome that block.
