Reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars from 2 ratings
  • Learned a decent amount and actually pretty funny

I try to listen to earnings calls but they are often tedious and hard to follow (too many #s). This pod summarizes them and has a good bear vs bull format and their debates are humorous. Good way to get up to speed on a lot of companies’ progress.

Q: What is the underlying strategy that allowed Evercore to post such a large first quarter?
The hosts summarize management's view that a diversified mix beyond M&A, including PCA activity and non-M&A advisory, plus a focus on high-margin, scalable advisory fees, together with a talent-heavy approach aimed at future deal flow, drove the record. They also discuss the role of time-shifting and lumpiness in inflating Q1 results, making the sustainability of the run-rate a key question.
