  • DNA

I have a really hard time listening to the comments about the DNA evidence. How do you know that the FBI lab is any better than the private DNA lab? DNA mixtures are part of the job. Sometimes you just can’t separate out the parts of the mixture. From what I know (as a forensic DNA analyst), the FL lab has the same mixture deconvolution program as the FBI. It’s a limitation of the technology not the lab. These are all speculations coming from someone who isn’t an expert in that field.

Q: Does this worry you about how slow the investigation has been progressing in relation to other cases like the Idaho four murders?
