  • The DTVC Podcast is a knowledgable, funny, thoughtful, bold, silly, serious, educated, literate, mad and joyful celebration of all things direct to video. This isn't a judgemental, ironic, detached podcast that wishes to do these movies a disservice, this is an exaltation of every action, sci-fi and erotic thriller movie that used to line the shelves of your favourite Mom & Pop store and now clutters up Tubi. Just listen man, it's an absolute gas. Well worth your time and your support! Huzzah!! ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

DTVC Podcast 263, Trap Houses
Q: What did you think of this Trap House film?
The hosts felt the Tubi Trap House worked better given its tighter storytelling and cast, while the Netflix version suffered from uneven teen-oriented plotting that dragged the film down.
DTVC Podcast 253, Nepo Babies: "South Beach" and "Future Zone"
Q: What makes South Beach stand out among Nepo Baby films, despite its flaws?
It showcases a stacked cast and Fred Williamson's gonzo-direct-to-video approach, which elevates the film's energy even though the plot is episodic and confusing in parts.
