New to discovering the podcast and I’m so happy I’ve found something so wonderful with a big archive for me to enjoy. This is such a delightful mix of history and culture and so much more than ‘just clothes’.
I enjoy going down the ‘dress fancy’ rabbit hole regularly and have even re-listened to episodes to relive the joy of the topics covered.
The dynamic relationship between two hosts is fun and balanced and brings a personal side to the dialogue.
The podcast is not to be missed! It’s my favorite discovery this year by far! You won’t regret it.
I’m a fairly new listener to Dress: Fancy, but I quickly fell in love with it. The show covers a range of topics, many of which I knew nothing about but which ended up being fascinating. Always insightful and informative, but also just purely fun—without fail, I end up laughing out loud at some point during every episode. Great for costume/fashion lovers, but also anyone who loves a good story and/or a costume (fancy dress) party!
Hello, I just wanted to say thank you for your super interesting Laura Ashley appreciation podcast and I've just watched the 1976 documentary you referenced. It goes without saying that I am a bit of an LA fan and did for a short time work for them in the early 90's. I had the wonderful experience of staying in the Château de Remaisnil around that time too, although it had been sold on but not yet changed.
I will listen to your other podcasts as I work over the coming weeks - nothing beats sewin... more
Dress: Fancy is definitely the most fabulous fashion podcast I have come across. I have found the content incredibly useful as a student studying Fashion History at uni - the subjects spoken about are so varied and engaging, from discussions of recently opened fashion exhibits, to the history of the Christmas trees at Claridge’s. Informal yet full of fascinating in depth discussions, Lucy’s infinite fashion knowledge is such a joy to listen to, and I can’t wait for the new season! Would absolute... more
