I think the writer achieved his goal to "to counteract a century of pop culture distortion and adaptation decay to return to the fear and menace of the original Bram Stoker classic."
It was well written, the music and SFX made the play suitably gloomy and ominous, and, towards the end, the creators did make this story feel genuinely scary and macabre.
I think I appreciated this much more after listening to the interview episode. The creator seems to have a strong understanding & appreciation for the source material, & I agree with a lot of his opinions. I think you can definitely feel that this a smaller/lower budget production in some of the voice acting & sound effects, but I think it still does a good job adapting the source material in a way that feels faithful while still making changes.
Great writing, voices & background music
The only Dracula that I care to recognize. The only Dracula that matters. Those other Dracula adaptations? I spit on them.
