Q: What kind of differentiation, at least from your knowledge, is that when it's an adolescent as opposed to somebody that's maybe in their 30s and up, as far as this process of new neural pathways coming online?
The development of the front part of the brain, which is responsible for evaluating consequences and impulse control, is not fully developed in young people. This makes them more susceptible to addiction.
