  • Great Show about the history of Disney

Great job by the hosts, each podcast probably requires a lot of research.

I love Disney and for the most part I feel like they do a good job of “behaving respectfully.”

Even with that, it’s good to look in the mirror of your past to ensure that we are not repeating past mistakes.

  • A Must for Disney Lovers!

Fantastic podcast! Rachel and Erin provide such intricate, thoughtful analyses of every Disney film; their discussions always give me a deeper understanding of the movies, their more problematic qualities, and the context in which they were created. And the two hosts have a great dynamic, besides! It’s like listening to friends. If you’re interested in Disney, or in dissecting pop culture as a reflection of our culture at large, make sure to check this one out.

  • My favorite podcast

As someone who is a big fan of Disney but also has conflicted feelings about some of the old films’ content, I love the critical theory and context that DeconDisney provides. What a perfect example of how to love a thing and also acknowledge it’s history of harm. I learn so much from this show!

Research Alert: Fat Characters in Disney Movies
Q: What is the assumption of homogeneity of variance, and how does Welch's correction help you fix that?
Welch's correction adjusts the t-test when the two groups do not have equal variances, allowing the statistical comparison to proceed more reliably even though the data violate a key assumption.
Brother Bear
Q: Did you feel connected to Brother Bear as a movie?
I didn't really care about it as a kid, and watching it now didn't enhance that connection.
Home on the Range
Q: If I couldn't have guessed already, would you like to tell us how you enjoyed this film?
To put it succinctly, I didn't enjoy it. There were things about it that I liked, especially the visuals, but I found it hard to get invested in the characters and plot.
