處厚章第三十八
上義為之。而有以為。
仁愛有不能及。又不得不以義成之。只因慈惠日久。是非亦隨之以生。是非既生。不得不有分別之義。上義之君。原是以仁為體。以義為用。處事自然有剛斷之妙。因世道紛紜。人情多詐。或君臣父子之間。夫婦朋友之際。非太過。則不及。不能適於中道。所以真妄須權衡。得失需較量。有為之事。終無止息。有為之法。不可窮盡。故曰上義為之。而有以為。細想聖人以上義。裁正天下者。正是挽回民心之生意。救人道之失也。
