本集帶大家回到1988年的台灣，在那個年代資訊不流通，一個人要憑空消失，比現在容易太多。就在這一年，台北發生一起詭異殺妻案。已婚的吳女失蹤2個多月，吳媽報案說從外孫口中得知，姚姓女婿將女兒殺害分屍，警方逮捕姚，並在案發現場找到吳女血跡，將姚移送法辦。
這個案子從頭到尾疑點重重：有小孩的指控、有血跡、有證詞、還有報案人搞出來的靈異傳說，甚至驚動警政署長，後來還派人去挖地，挖出了骨頭……但整起案子裡，就是找不到屍體。結果五年後，所謂的「死者」，竟然自己走了出來！？

近來基隆地檢署針對搭載輝達高階晶片的美超微伺服器走私案，接連發動兩波偵搜行動，迄今收押美超微業務經理及上櫃公司青雲科技高層等6位被告。根據《鏡週刊》報導，這條走私鏈錯綜複雜，涵蓋美、中、台三方勢力，由具有中國軍方色彩的神祕女金主藏身幕後出資、操盤，再透過台灣黑幫分子穿針引線，找來美國科技公司老闆向美超微下單，並委由是方電訊代管主機，再以改標等手法，將伺服器走私運往中國，短短3年不法獲利百億元，專案小組已鎖定其他共犯，正擴大偵辦中。

2001年桃園發生一起火燒安親班3死命案，此案從表面上看，是一場因感情糾紛引發的縱火，後來成為台灣死刑制度的轉折點。毒蟲鍾德樹在看守所勒戒時，認識一名獄友，並借錢給獄友開安親班的黃姓妻子，後來更戀上黃女。鍾男追求示愛不成由愛生恨，多次上門討債，最後前往安親班縱火，造成黃女及2名男童死亡、18人輕重傷。這起案件由於罪證確鑿，兩年內三審定讞，鍾德樹在2003年遭最高法院判處死刑定讞。此後展開長達近8年的死刑執行拉鋸，直到2011年槍決伏法，前後橫跨10年。
