2017年，30岁的史伦在清华设计院工作陷入迷茫，他做出了一个大胆的决定：辞职，用230多天时间，不坐飞机，只靠陆路和海路环游世界。

从2016到2020年，姚璐以沙发客身份走遍伊朗、伊拉克、叙利亚、黎巴嫩等地，住进当地人家中，见证了战乱之下真实的生活：巴格达夜市上搓麻将的人群，伊朗女孩在钢琴展上的“灰色地带”演奏，叙利亚青年在炮火中坚持听音乐会。
