The mailbag is pretty active in this podcast, with listeners chiming in with questions about how Concordia (Wis.) will do in transitioning from the NACC to the CCIW, whether this year’s new technology in Division III will be added more smoothly than ... more
The biggest news for Division III football coming out of the NFL draft was, as usual, not about a player getting drafted. We are accustomed to that by now, sadly, and no amount of tweeting is going to convince the NFL to draft D-III players.
But fo... more
The NFL Draft is coming up this week, and Division III has had only three players drafted since 2012, all of them offensive linemen who were thought of quite highly and drafted quite highly: Ali Marpet of Hobart, Ben Bartch of St. John’s and Quinn Me... more
The Coaching Carousel took many spins since we dropped our previous podcast, and it’s time we caught up with those movements and get someone on the podcast! That honor goes to Michael Zweifel at UW-La Crosse, who replaces Matt Janus after Janus’s mov... more

With all the talk about the WIAC, why are most of those schools DIII? They have more students than most DII schools. While I love this podcast, the WIAC receives far more coverage than any other conference in DIII.
One other quibble, why are you guys talking playoff bracket after Week 1? Just give us recaps of the games that were good and save the playoff discussion until Week 8 or so.
The best podcast covering college football in general, and it's at the D3 level, the most true division of college sports where everyone is involved for the love of the game.
Pat Coleman (founder of the D3sports series of websites) and Greg Thomas know Division III football, the coaches, players, and rivalries better than any two people in the nation. These hour-long podcasts take you across the country and cover Division III football with insight, depth, and humor you can’t find anywhere else. HIGHLY recommended!
A must listen for any fan of Division III Football. Created and hosted by people who have been covering the sport for decades. A nice mix each week of information, interviews and humor, with weekly episodes during the season looking primarily at previous and upcoming games, and monthly episodes during the off-season that include interviews and other stories and news.
Love the podcast and the D3 coverage. I was on the Northwestern (MN) team from 17-21. In 304 you brought up the doubleheader that was played in 2005 and you said that Mac was the team that played 2 games. It was actually Northwestern that played both Macalaster and Trinity. Keep up the regular UMAC references on Off the Beaten Path.
