  • Something a bit different

Great podcast! I love that this podcast is a little bit different, with the dip into travel talk. It just makes it more interesting and personal. Rick Denton is a great host and asks good questions. The episodes are also a really manageable length. Definitely worth dipping into if you want to hear a range of voices across the CX space and from all over the world, too.

  • Customer Experience is key

It’s refreshing to see a pod focused on what all companies should be focused on - the customer. Too many companies make themselves the hero. CX Passport puts that in proper order and adds a host and format that encourages learning, and fun. Great job, Rick!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The one with the DAF CX – Dr. Liz Okuma E243
Q: How do you define best-in-class client experience in a practical, day-to-day sense, beyond buzzwords?
Best-in-class client experience is about trust, being responsive, and making it easy for clients to work with us, with tangible outcomes that show up in metrics and in the stories of how advisors and donors perceive and engage with the service.
The one with the DAF CX – Dr. Liz Okuma E243
Q: So let's start with the basics: what exactly is a donor-advised fund, and how does CX in that space differ from more traditional industries?
A donor-advised fund is a rapidly growing charitable vehicle where donors contribute assets, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then decide when to distribute grants, enabling ongoing philanthropy treated as a personal journey rather than a one-time transaction.
The One With The Training Clothing - Jannecke Drangert-Hveding E234
Q: How can brands deliver on their customer promise without a formal CX structure, especially in the Nordic context where CX isn't always a defined function?
In the Nordics, CX work succeeds through alignment, leadership integration with business strategy, and a culture of value creation rather than a standalone unit; even without formal CX titles, organizations can build value champions who champion the customer, collaborate across ecosystems, and embed CX thinking into everyday decisions.
The One With The Training Clothing - Jannecke Drangert-Hveding E234
Q: What have you seen happen when trade-offs are not understood by those who should be closest to the customers, and why does that happen?
Trade-offs often get overlooked because teams rush to present a sales pitch or focus on quarterly numbers, which drifts focus away from true customer value; the most effective leaders emerge when they stay curious about context, balance, and the real trade-offs executives must make.
The One With Pharma CX – Silvi Haldipur E238
Q: How did you come to focus on CX within pharma and healthcare?
A personal family health crisis exposed how information and coordination gaps create real harm, which motivated a shift from advertising to CX to make healthcare interactions simpler and more connected for patients, providers, and payers.
