CTRMRadio 73 - Canada's Oil and Gas Pivot Beyond the US
Q: Ankit, from your perspective, how significant is this transition for the Canadian energy sector? Are we witnessing a temporary adjustment or a long-term structural shift in how Canadian energy companies participate in global markets?
This is a very important milestone for Canada with a long-term horizon. Canada has depended on the US as its primary energy buyer for a long time, but global events are prompting a shift toward more reliable, diversified markets, which will extend Canada's reach into Europe and Asia and create new opportunities while spreading risk.
CTRMRadio 71 - Operations Trade and Risk Management - VAKT's View
Q: It would be interesting to understand, how do you estimate the future of AI agentic technology in commodity industry in general? Where we are at the moment?
We see multiple adoption curves moving in parallel. Agentic AI and orchestration are accelerating, but the underlying infrastructure and data governance are essential. The market is moving past hype toward production deployments, with tangible capacity gains and governance enabling broader and safer use of AI across workflows.
CTRMRadio 71 - Operations Trade and Risk Management - VAKT's View
Q: This is particular about your solution. And generally, I would be interested to understand, how do you see their headwinds and tailwinds for this CTRM type of solution in the market?
The headwinds include integration complexity, data quality, and the cost of maintaining AI systems. The tailwinds are substantial efficiency gains, higher throughput, and better data-driven decisions, with customers recognizing that AI is now more about enabling practical outcomes than chasing speculative capabilities.
CTRMRadio 71 - Operations Trade and Risk Management - VAKT's View
Q: From their point of view, what is the reaction? Are they excited? Are they trustful? Or do they have concerns or reservations? How do you talk to them about this kind of solution?
Customers are generally excited but cautious. They want clear demonstrations of practical embedded outcomes, governance, and measurable benefits, rather than hype. We address concerns by showing a proven track record, governance mechanisms, and a clear path to value through integration and staged adoption.
CTRMRadio 71 - Operations Trade and Risk Management - VAKT's View
Q: Thank you. So it seems to be that you also see yourself as a part of this kind of software category. But what are your main differentiations and where do you see particular strengths of VAKT within this category?
Our primary differentiator is delivering outcomes, not just software. We partner with customers, leverage our industry pedigree, and bring an evolved automation path that respects each company's unique workflows. We automate the complete end-to-end post-trade workflow with a hardened, governance-enabled product and a domain-specific data model that supports integration with customers' internal systems.
