  • Candid & Blunt

I am a WVU podcast junkie. I rarely miss any of the good ones, i.e. Three Guys Before The Game, Metro news, Sportsline, Sunday Sportsline, and occasionally In The Gun. This podcast is the go to for candid and forthright commentary. Nobody knows the Mountaineers inside and out better than these guys. They occasionally get too far into the weeds, but I’m willing to listen to that to get the good stuff. Kudos to Chris and Mike.

  • Realistic and Informative

Mike and Chris do a good job and offer solid insight. 3 Guys continues to go downhill with all the Neal Brown excuses. It’s so bad it’s actually funny.

  • Enough

Quit making excuses for Neal Brown. That’s enough of the excuses for him.

  • Seriously?

It’s sad if this is the best WVU podcast. Proud WV born and bred gal… I expected much better.

  • Best WVU Podcast Out There

Chris and Mike are the best, and it’s not particularly close. Always the first listen among my podcasts when I see there’s a new one. Keep up the good work guys!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Previewing Kentucky and Binghamton with Cole Parke
Q: Which Kentucky pitchers are most trusted to handle the regional, and how does that shape WVU's approach to the lineup and early innings?
Kentucky trusts Jelkin highly, with Cleaver and Harris also reliable when healthy. This leads WVU to prepare for strong early starts, expect pressure to push runs early, and plan to leverage timely hitting and aggressive baserunning to counter Kentucky's bullpen inconsistencies.
Previewing Kentucky and Binghamton with Cole Parke
Q: What is the pitching plan for West Virginia heading into the regional, and how might it influence game one versus Kentucky?
The plan is to balance experience and matchup data, potentially using a combination of Jelkin, Harris, and Cleaver based on who is healthiest and most effective, with Madison as a contingency for a potential four-game scenario, aiming to start strong while keeping options open for the rest of the weekend.
Monday Morning Q&A: Hope you're hungry!
Q: If you were going to be killed unless WVU could hit three free throws in a row, what would your last meal be?
My last meal would be the Betty White from Lefty's in Morgantown.
Monday Morning Q&A: Hope you're hungry!
Q: Is Ross Hodge getting the most out of this roster?
Yes, he appears to be maximizing the potential of essential players given the limitations on the team.
Questions that may not have answers
Q: How can West Virginia hope to compete with Arizona's level of talent?
It's more likely to follow a different path, focusing on recruiting underrated prospects and utilizing transfers rather than competing directly with top-tier teams.
