  • Could be so much better with some sound QC

I have tried to listen to this podcast so many times and I really want to love it but the sound quality is so poor and just has not gotten better for literally years. Either one guy is almost silent or the other is deafening. Invest in some tech gear and or find someone who can edit it, please! I promise to listen way more often if you fix the sound issues!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

NCAA Summer 2026 Coaches Series: Ep 10 July 10, 2026
Q: What's the philosophy on roster size and attrition at Air Force?
Air Force operates with a different system and emphasizes depth, noting the need for a minimum roster size to handle attrition and the timing of player intake relative to basic training.
NCAA Summer 2026 Coaches Series: Ep 10 July 10, 2026
Q: How do you balance roster depth with talent acquisition in the current NIL/portal era?
The guest explains it's about keeping a core nucleus, integrating a limited number of strategic pieces, and ensuring goaltending and defense anchor the team while avoiding overreliance on one-and-done talent.
NCAA Summer 2026 Coaches Series: Ep 7 June 25, 2026
Q: What was Lindenwood's first year like and how did the roster turnover affect you?
The first year was a rebuilding phase with 14 new players, but it yielded a high level of performance and growth; turnover was driven by opportunities for players to move on, and the program adapted by restocking with transfers and freshmen.
NCAA Summer 2026 Coaches Series: Ep 6 June 24, 2026
Q: How difficult is it to assemble a roster for a new NCAA D1 program while also building for the next year?
It's a mix of leveraging existing relationships, targeting a niche pool of players, and understanding the limited turnover at the NCAA D1 level; they will recruit carefully to fit a transitional schedule and future NCAA D1 goals.
NCAA Summer 2026 Coaches Series: Ep 5 June 21, 2026
Q: What are your thoughts on expanding the college hockey schedule to 40 games and restoring roster size to 28-29 before the latest changes, and how would that affect player safety and development?
The coach supports expanding to 40 games and restoring the roster to 28-29, arguing that the current 26 is too restrictive, increases injury risk, and undermines player development; he believes a more balanced roster size would improve performance and safety.
