  • Long time listener; the show is amazing

Chris and Mike and now just Mike brought/bring so much to this show.

They spotted docker way before it was cool and interviewed the team behind the project.

Throughout the years they’ve had awesome interviews, great banter, Jar-Jar guest appearances, it’s just such a good show.

The back catalog is great for understanding what’s going on in the world and how it will affect both tech workers and the companies they work for.

    7/5 stars.

  • Smarter than me

I consider myself to be pretty intelligent, listening to a wide variety of podcasts and reading lots of books. But I appreciate being able to listen to two people who are definitely smarter than me.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

627: Event Modeling Pt2
Q: How would you get started on a brownfield project with event modeling?
Start by retrofitting an event model onto the part of the existing system you are working on to better document workflows and understand the system's complexity.
627: Event Modeling Pt2
Q: What is the relationship to Agile slash XB?
Event modeling can reduce unnecessary stand-up meetings by providing a clear visual representation of project progress and responsibilities. It can centralize team collaboration and updates to minimize the need for formal status meetings.
627: Event Modeling Pt2
Q: What is the difference between event sourcing and event modeling?
Event sourcing is the strategy of storing state as a history of information that was ingested by the system. Event modeling, on the other hand, is a method for describing systems, understood by both developers and business stakeholders.
626: .Net 10 & C#14 With Nick Proud
Q: What would you say to someone skeptical about .NET?
I would say to those people that it's so easy to get started now, why wouldn't you just take an hour to try it?
623: Learn Linux TV with Jay LaCroix
Q: What is one tool that you can't live without?
I would say Ansible because Ansible saves me time managing servers and automating changes across them.
