東邦紅茶的創始人郭少三，生於1908年，13歲赴日本求學，畢業於日本東京帝國大學農業化學系。返臺後進入臺北帝大(今臺灣大學)農化所研究，專門研究茶樹的培育、改良與茶葉的製造等學理與技術，從此與茶結下不解之緣。

🏆日治時代，新竹州是臺灣北部最重要的紅茶產區，關西更是其中翹楚，1937年關西羅氏家族結合地方茶業界人士成立「臺灣紅茶株式會社」，將精製紅茶直接外銷歐美，全盛時期每年外銷茶葉高達百萬磅，更因為品質精良獲選為獻給日本皇室飲用的「獻上茶」！

姜阿新，1901年出生，日本東京明治大學法政科專門部畢業，1930年代以林業崛起，除了茶事業外，同時也涉足製糖與運輸業，曾任新竹客運董事長，還擔任過臺灣臨時省議會議員。臺灣光復後，成立永光茶葉公司，積極要進的作風，在當時臺灣茶葉界有「茶虎」之名。
1930年北埔庄成立「北埔茶業組合」，由於「北埔茶」在當時品質精良，聲名廣播，吸引了三井農林會社與擔任「北埔茶業組合」專務理事的姜阿新與合作生產紅茶，1934年時於北埔口建設最新設備的茶廠，帶動北埔紅茶的輝... more
