- Worth a listen!
A solid historical fantasy audio drama. Well produced and the acing is good. Good writing, a bit cliche and I too hope it develops further. The modern speech and expressions are bit disjointed when mixed with the historical speaking patterns of other characters. Overall worth a listen! Engaging and entertaining.

Story seems ok, but this is loud. There is so much screaming and yelling so keep your device nearby to save your ears. Will give it a bit more time as it has decent music and sound design I just hope it evens out volume wise.

This was almost good, but not quite. It never really took off in a way that captivated me. At first I thought the acting was pretty good but then the performances started getting a little heavy handed/melodramatic. It couldn’t seem to set a tone that worked. Something always felt slightly off. Was it the story or the writing or the pacing? Was it the acting? The sound design? I think all of the above. But none of them were terrible. It just didn’t come together in a very satisfying way.

I really thought I would be able to listen to Carcerem while doing other things around the house. Podcasts are a great companion for daily life. But a few moments in, I kew that wasn’t going to work. The sound design was so engaging, seized my mind’s eye and held it rapt to the point that I had to sit down and focus.
