  • Does his research

I think many podcasts are a bit dull because the hosts don’t do their homework and default to asking the obvious and superficial questions. Business Minds is a rare and wonderful exception. Jay is deeply immersed in the guests’ work and ready to ask the questions no one has asked before. It leads to something less rehearsed and much more interesting!

314: Dhomonique Murphy | From Unknown to Unforgettable
Q: What role did mentors play in your journey, and how did you approach building that network?
Mentors were essential; she actively mapped out a long list of potential mentors, traveled to meet them, and learned from their stories, emphasizing why they resonated with her and how to learn from them.
314: Dhomonique Murphy | From Unknown to Unforgettable
Q: What was the turning point that led you to drop the armor and show up as your true self?
A wake-up moment with a group of young girls challenged her to confront the masks she wore; choosing to embrace authenticity over perfection changed how others perceived her and opened up deeper connections and opportunities.
314: Dhomonique Murphy | From Unknown to Unforgettable
Q: So you can share how you describe yourself beyond a resume, who is Dhomonique, really?
Dhomonique describes herself as a lifelong learner and a student, someone who values growth and authentic self-expression, shaped by mentors and real-world experiences rather than titles alone.
316: Nick Epley | Becoming a Little More Social
Q: How do introverts and extroverts differ in actual social outcomes, according to your research?
Introverts and extroverts differ mainly in the choices they make and their expectations, not in the quality of actual conversations; acting extroverted can boost mood for both groups and the depth of conversations does not map cleanly to personality type.
316: Nick Epley | Becoming a Little More Social
Q: What did you learn from the memorable train-side conversation, and what does it imply about our beliefs about others' reactions?
That people mispredict how others will respond to outreach, and that reaching out often leads to surprisingly positive interactions, underscoring a core theme of his work.
