Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why AI Has to be the Infrastructure, Not the Strategy ft. Elon Salfati
Q: In your AI maturity framework, how can the C-suite assess readiness for AI and where should they invest to ensure impact?
Maturity is measured on technology, organization, and governance. Technology is typically the easiest, while organizational readiness and governance are harder, especially with data ownership and EU regulatory considerations. The key is aligning AI initiatives with clear KPIs owned by the same person accountable for outcomes, and establishing governance due to regulatory and data-access concerns.
Why AI Has to be the Infrastructure, Not the Strategy ft. Elon Salfati
Q: So can you talk specifically about how a business can map their workflows and pinpoint the right intervention points for AI?
The recommended method is a three-step process: first map the current internal processes and data flows; second score each step on human judgment needs and cost of mistakes; and third design governance to determine when AI should trigger a human or vice versa, aiming to raise the success rate from around 10% to 60% or higher.
Why AI Has to be the Infrastructure, Not the Strategy ft. Elon Salfati
Q: From your experience, can you walk us through how organizations can move beyond thinking it's just one or two tools to truly embedding AI into their end-to-end business process?
Elon explains that organizations should treat AI as infrastructure, embedding it across end-to-end processes rather than solving a single use case. The approach starts with mapping current processes, identifying data sources and triggers, scoring steps by human judgment and mistake costs, and designing hands-off protocols that determine when humans should intervene versus when AI can act autonomously.
Why “Wait-And-See” Can’t Be Your AI Strategy ft. Steve Brown
Q: How should leaders think about the workforce in an age of agents and robotics?
Shift from doing work to designing and overseeing work of agents, with humans and digital workers coexisting to amplify impact rather than replace jobs.
Why “Wait-And-See” Can’t Be Your AI Strategy ft. Steve Brown
Q: What are the biggest missteps organizations make when starting their AI journey?
Failing to have a data orderly foundation, treating AI as just another technology, and neglecting change management and employee involvement during rollout.
