  • Big headlines and interesting topics get killed by boring banter

The show usually catches the eye with bombastic headlines and interesting topics to industry pros but almost every episode starts with a lengthy exposition followed by wasting a lot of time on banter and small talk between the hosts on matters that interest no one.

Sadly I’ve been falling for this every time. The pod needs some re-tooling.

  • Great content

Love the content and overall coverage. Only thing is that they never explain the acronyms. They just assume everyone knows them imo. I get they probably have explained them in the past but they need to say what they are whenever used.

  • Does anyone listen for quality control

The content is extremely valuable and is presented in a way and structure that makes the show flow nicely. However, and I understand no one went to school for broadcasting, but there still has to be a minimum level of professionalism, like, right, like, sort of, right like right, like like like like like like… and someone is allergic to the black mold in her home… like like like like like

  • Skip first 8-10 minutes

Informative content begins after enduring these inauthentic marketing personalities catching up with each other. No value there. Guests are the best part. Maybe guests could host the show?

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Mega M&A Madness with Fingers' Dave Infante
Q: Dave, you're really good at looking at industry news through a consumer lens. What should drinkers know about all these middle tier deals that we've been seeing lately?
The impact on consumers is mostly behind the scenes in the near term, with longer-term effects being more meaningful as consolidations reduce brand access to shelves and potentially limit the breadth of products available in certain markets, while also changing how suppliers are serviced and paid.
A CBC Primer with Brewers Association CEO Bart Watson
Q: What kinds of changes are being made to CBC and GABF, and how are members reacting to these shifts?
Members have been largely positive about the changes, recognizing the need to adapt to a changing industry, with some mixed social media chatter about specifics; the BA aims to balance clear-eyed realism with optimism and focus on practical value for members.
A CBC Primer with Brewers Association CEO Bart Watson
Q: The Brewers Association is changing up the Craft Brewers Conference for this year. Can you explain how CBC is evolving and why these changes were made?
We compressed the CBC schedule to two-and-a-half days with additional activities outside the core program, lowered the price to improve accessibility, and focused on delivering four value buckets—commerce, education, networking, and fun—to better serve members who have busy schedules.
From Blueberries to Boom Season: Baxter and Orono's Maine Strategy
Q: What lessons did the guest share about the earlier expansion and collaboration experiences, including the Dogfish Head project?
Key lessons include ensuring promotions make sense for the local market, leveraging authentic relationships, and balancing ambitious ideas with practical execution and budget controls.
From Blueberries to Boom Season: Baxter and Orono's Maine Strategy
Q: How does Irwin view the impact of the hotel component in BrewDog's package and its potential role?
He's mildly bemused and cautiously optimistic, recognizing it's a new challenge for a craft-focused company and that the hotel business may not be central to their core strategy but could play a supporting role.
