I have been listening to this podcast since 2008. Always excellent guests with great questions from Dr. Campbell. This is one of my "must listen" podcasts and has done a tremendous amount for my understanding of neuroscience and cognitive psychology.
When I was Ill, a highly functional with severe bipolar depression I spend each car journey, each walk plugged into this podcast searching for answers. Four years completely symptom free and meds free I look back in gratitude that this resource, your podcast was available to me. I started to understand and trust what I already knew intuitively about my health story.
As a public school teacher, I am repeatedly told that some new technique is worthwhile because it’s consistent with how the brain works. Representatives of companies come at us with amygdala and hippocampus, prefrontal decision making and brain stem automaticity, serotonin and dopamine, EKGs and fMRI evidence. But mostly it’s hogwash. Their claims amount to saying that students will improve their time running the mile if they strengthen their quads and they have just the product. more
Dr. Campbell interviews authors of authoritative volumes which provide cogent overviews of specific areas of neurological research, rich with details. Fascinating stuff!
