Realm doesn’t know how to fail. Bookburners is my most favorite of all times. Characters and plots are solid
I absolutely loved seasons 1-5. The writing and VA transported me to their fantastic world and had me invested in the characters. Unfortunately I was not expecting such a departure in S6. I’m not a fan of military and Cold War stories.
Really good podcast series. Only critique I have is for the witch who came in from the cold, it’s long winded. Occasional recaps would be great as I’ve lost track of the plotline and stopped listening.
Gets better as it goes along, if you can get through the rough early episodes. Still very US-centric, resulting in some weird story choices (American in Rome doesn't spend time in the city, British apartments having basement boilers, the Vatican is run like the US government, etc.) but it's good nonetheless, in spite of these issues.
The key to the joy of this podcast for me, is how well the main characters are drawn and their relationships with one another. I really came to care about them, in amongst increasingly bonkers scenarios. Series 5 feels like an end. I’ll miss them.
