  • Needs a producer

These guys have some good knowledge about the history of the club and have good access to players and coaches now which serves to their advantage. That said. The show is too long A lot of rambling, some truly corny sound effects that come in too late and have to be explained. A good producer to help wrangle the show could improve it.

  • Um um um um

I do like the inside information these guys update us with on the club. I just find it very distracting that Mike being a rep reporter uses “Um” so freaking much.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Doctor, My Eyes / Ep 537 / Blue City Radio
Q: What went wrong defensively in the DC United game?
The panel attributes the goals to defensive miscommunications on set pieces, cross denial failures, and players not reading long throws effectively, along with a lack of predatory defending in the box.
Hungry Like The Wolf / Ep 538 / Blue City Radio
Q: Congratulations on the win. Could you kind of talk about the work that went into your second clean sheet of the season in the league tonight, and how your team specifically limited Columbus to just two shots on target?
Pascal Jansen attributed the clean sheet to a balanced performance on both ends of the pitch, reinforcing the need to improve box defending and finishing opportunities, while noting the game provided a fresh start for the third block of the season.
Boys Don’t Cry / Ep 536 / Blue City Radio
Q: Are there meaningful roster changes coming to shake up the open cup lineups?
The hosts suggest strategic rotations to balance freshness with the need to win, with emphasis on leveraging Magno and Malachi Jones while protecting tired starters.
Boys Don’t Cry / Ep 536 / Blue City Radio
Q: Where does accountability lie for the recent results?
Jansen says accountability lies with everyone—coaches and players—emphasizing collective responsibility rather than singling out individuals.
The Cup Of Life / Ep 534 / Blue City Radio
Q: What did Pascal Janssen say about conceding goals late in games and how to fix it?
He emphasized defensive urgency and intensity must be locked in until the whistle, citing past goals against Miami and St. Louis as echoes of the same issue, and suggested no quick fix but a need for consistent attention to set pieces and marking.
