Full disclaimer there is an as of yet fully identified issue around the latency of my recording in my usual recording software that is causing brief skips. I am working on correcting this but I hope it still is beneficial.

Came across this podcast while looking for coverage of Slow Horses going back to season 1. This is the perfect show to play between episodes for a quick and fun recap with fun insights thrown in. Love the sound clips interspersed throughout as well. They make me laugh bc they’re always spot on. Feels like chatting with a friend between episodes!
I stumbled on this looking for Alien: Earth content. She writes really well and takes her insights out pretty far to give me a lot of “huh; yeah, I didn’t think of that” moments. Someone said it’s not easy to pull off a very good podcast without a cohost, and they’re right and I agree she manages to entertain as well as enlighten. Five stars, immediate follow.
Good!
Okay, I am jumping in right in the middle as far as these podcasts are concerned. I wanted to hear Christina’s reviews of Barry so that’s where I started and BRAVO!!! I love how immediately you gravitated toward Noho Hank. RELATABLE! I’m looking forward to hearing the rest of your Barry episode reviews but also all of the other shows you’ve covered that I also love. Final thought, it’s hard to pull off a podcast without a cohost but you really pull it off. Well done!!!
The podcast is helpful, and I enjoy the host. Problem is they have background music running through out the whole podcast. Music is ok for intros and outros, but not through the whole podcast as it splits focus. In addition I have a brain injury and someone talking over music triggers debilitating headaches as it’s too much stimuli for my brain to process all at once. Due to this, I have never been able to listen to a whole episode in one sitting.
So excited for your coverage of Loki!!

This is a great, fun, original Podcast. I dig the drop ins and especially dig Christina’s rants. A very smart & funny podcast!
Christina brings it every time with her thoughtful insight and hilarious reviews. She’s a true pro and keeps getting better and better with each show. I love her enthusiasm about the content she loves to watch as well. All of these things combined make Black Girl Couch Reviews a force to be reckoned with in the podcast game. Don’t just read my stupid words and take them at face value. Listen for yourself and get ready to love Christina like I do. 5 stars all day long.
GIRL!!!! Let me tell you! First I heard you on Heroes Of Noise and you are awesome! Then I HAD TO check out your podcast... I mean even if it's just for the fact that I'm a black girl on a couch. LoL. I LOVE your enthusiasm and humor. And the Flash is my show! I don't have a lot of time to watch TV or movies, but the Flash is MY SHOW! Listening to you made me wish I was there when you were talking about it. You had the same thoughts I did. You also made my literally laugh out loud with your cert... more
I highly recommend Christina’s podcast. She’s unique, insightful, hilarious and nonjudgmental. She provides thought provoking reviews on a variety of shows/movies while making you laugh. It’s also great to hear reviews from a black woman’s point of view particularly in the sci-fi genre, a place that isn’t always inclusive to all. She provides a safe space while having a ton of fun. I was hooked from the very first podcast I listened to.
Christina is insightful, funny and very real in her podcast, bringing a refreshing take on some of the most popular shows out there (I really liked her take on Westworld's characterisations that was very unique). I almost feel like I need to buy a coffee and have a nice long sit down when I listen to her work, because it is such good 'calm down' listening after I've had a rough day. Wonderful stuff, love it!

Christina is witty, smart, and thought provoking. She always gives her honest opinion of a show but will also listen to an opposing views without making the person feel incompetent. And more importantly it’s a breath of fresh air to hear a recap and review from the POV of a Black woman; finally someone that sees the world through my eyes.
