  • I started A rolls royce & Bentley repair shop when everyone told me I could not

I could really relate to this podcast , with no experience and just my education from UTI to become a professional technician, I knew what cars I wanted to work on and had several instructors tell me I had no chance of that happening.

I start my shop in my garage and now rent a bigger garage space, I’ve been looking for a one bay shop to rent, to have an actual shop, but there are none I can find in Atlanta.

I own a European Dynamics, I am on google in Atlanta, and could really use help.

Bonus Episode: Inside Alliant Power’s Capital Reman Acquisition
Q: How will the distribution and branding work going forward for Capital Reman under Alliant Power?
For now, branding remains largely unchanged, with a long-term possibility of brand integration under Alliant Power while maintaining a ship-direct model and expanding the total package offering to include complete engine-related kits.
Bonus Episode: Inside Alliant Power’s Capital Reman Acquisition
Q: Can you tell us a little about the special news and why this acquisition makes sense for Alliant Power?
The move aligns with a strategy to offer a fully integrated engine solution, expanding from engines to a total package that includes OEM components, and it fills a strategic gap in the aftermarket while leveraging Capital's strong engineering and entrepreneurial team.
From Heartbreak to Hands-On Apprenticeships
Q: Can you talk us through the nuts and bolts of Draft Day?
Draft Day connects industry partners with students for apprenticeships, internships, or jobs. Students are prepped in resumes and interview skills, then interview in groups with multiple industry partners. After a round of student and partner feedback, the organizer drafts matches and follows up with offers. It culminates in a signing-day-style celebration highlighting successful placements.
Mentorship is the Beginning of Leadership
Q: How did you approach starting and sustaining your apprenticeship program?
We started by involving the local schools and creating a structured, three-year program with clear goals and a mentorship component. The key was selecting the right mentors, securing buy-in from staff, and tying the program to real career paths that lead to leadership roles within the company.
What 5,500 Technicians Really Think About the Industry
Q: What do technicians want from pay structures according to the survey?
A mix of guaranteed pay with a performance-based component tends to be most appealing, with some preference for hybrid models over straight hourly, salary, or pure flat rate.
