  • Excellent podcast!

I just happened to get an email from Doximity and looked at it….I often ignore those emails because it pertains more to APRNs and not CRNAs. Listened to your latest podcast about side businesses! I’m literally doing that right now…branching out into aesthetics and wellness services. You talked about hand and wrist pain and oh man you know me…we all struggle with that from all that masking. Ouch! You can only get so many injections before they don’t work anymore! I can’t believe I haven’t lis... more

Grade 1 View – Ep. 21 – Staying Driven & Ambitious After Becoming a CRNA
Q: What do you think about the importance of getting newer CRNAs involved in the AANA?
We need younger minds on these boards as well. Small commitments to committees can lead to bigger roles like national board positions later on.
Grade 1 View – Ep. 21 – Staying Driven & Ambitious After Becoming a CRNA
Q: How can SRNAs get involved more with advocacy?
Most states now have where as an RRNA, you can actually be on a board in some sense, right? They have positions specifically for RRNAs to get involved in work committees.
Grade 1 View – Ep. 21 – Staying Driven & Ambitious After Becoming a CRNA
Q: What do you foresee for the future of CRNAs in light of reimbursement cuts?
If those cuts do not get reversed, they do put more pressure... but the salaries aren't going to go down, and therefore, the facility is going to end up having to pay a bigger difference.
Grade 1 View – Ep. 21 – Staying Driven & Ambitious After Becoming a CRNA
Q: Could you tell us a little bit about your new role as Chief Clinical Officer of your CRNA management company?
The company is Outpatient Anesthesia Solutions... We're seeing surgery centers desperately reaching out, trying to find who can run a CRNA only model.
Grade 1 View – Ep. 21 – Staying Driven & Ambitious After Becoming a CRNA
Q: What has motivated you to keep up with your roles, expand your scope of practice, and do things both in leadership, teaching, and advocacy?
Most of us are overachievers, right? We're highly motivated individuals... There's so many opportunities to do something bigger and greater, and it didn't take very long for those doors to kind of open for me.
