  • An anecdote to our times

A good friend recommended this podcast and I am so glad I tuned in. Scott Curran is a dynamic and inspirational leader who shares professional and personal stories about making an impact for good in the world. In our current sociopolitical environment, this podcast is a balm and anecdote to cynicism, polarization, and greed. Ep 1 taught me so much already, not just about human disease/medical research, but about being human and navigating life's biggest challenges. Subscribe!!!

Joan Garry on Being a Successful Leader
Q: What advice do you give those feeling stuck in their nonprofit jobs? Should they try to fix their organization or leave for greener pastures?
Recognize your own talent and that you might be thwarted by circumstances outside your control. Sometimes it's best to stay and effect change, but other times, it may be necessary to seek a more supportive environment.
Joan Garry on Being a Successful Leader
Q: Joan, tell us about your career trajectory and how you started nowhere near the nonprofit industry?
I started in corporate America and only later transitioned to the nonprofit sector after recognizing my potential for making meaningful contributions in that field.
