Life is complicated. And honestly? Most of us are just trying to understand it while we’re still living it. Thoughts From My Thirties is my ongoing conversation with the in-between seasons — the ones where you’re not who you used to be, but you’re not fully who you’re becoming yet. I’m your host, Kala Riggins. I think out loud. I feel deeply. And I care about what’s underneath the surface. Each ep... more

Love this pod, so relatable as a fellow 30 something millennial. Kala’s delivery is so perfect, she often articulates things I couldn’t quite put into words. This has become one of my favorite pods to listen to during my hot girl walks.
Everything about the podcast is dope. Great to listen to on a long car ride, at the gym, or in the background while cleaning. Each episode you will hear something that resonates.
Hey Kala, this recent episode resonated. At my big age of 42 I’m in a season of disrupting my life and embarking on a journey that is unfamiliar but vey purposeful for me. I’ve been a lawyer for the past 2 decades and have found myself unfulfilled. I’m selling my house and packing up my daughter and moving to Mexico.
My plans may seem strange, crazy and stupid to those looking from the outside but my spiritual outlook is that this is the right direction for me. I have found myself being so con... more
I love this podcast and hearing Kala Riggins talk through her life experiences. I started watching her on YouTube and then found the podcast here. I feel like she is so relatable to my life as a black woman in their 30s. I’m so glad she decided to do this podcast as there are women like us out here who feel unheard or unseen and may not have others around who can relate to them. Keep going with this podcast Kala because it’s really healing for some of us ❤️.
I love your podcast and I appreciate your willingness to help us all navigate this world as you’re navigating it yourself. I hope you do zoom call one time.

Across episodes, the host explores self-discovery, faith, creativity, and practical wisdom for navigating relationships, career pivots, and personal growth in your 30s. The tone blends vulnerability with actionable prompts, providing a space for authentic processing rather than tidy conclusions. A notable thread is the integration of spirituality and daily life—using faith as a guide for creativity, discipline, and community, rather than a barrier to progress.
