  • Entertaining

Fun different view on the NBA. No one cares about the 65 game rule except the egomaniacal journalists with a vote. Regular people want players to play 65 games minimum. Stop talking about it

  • You can do better

15 minutes of straight whining about tanking? Not a whiff of analysis, reporting, or insight. Tanking is a problem, and everyone knows that. Who is your rant for? A real shame, and takes away from the work you all do every day. But has become too common on this show, which is full of smart people. You are experts. Be experts!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Our Mutual Friend
Q: What stood out most about the recent playoff performance?
The panel emphasized not just the standout plays but the overall level of competition, pace, and defense, suggesting this playoff run could redefine expectations for what is possible at the highest level.
Sell The Team
Q: What defines the independent variable in Kerr's decision, and why does it matter for the team's future?
The independent variable is Steve Kerr's decision to stay or leave; it drives how the team's leadership, chemistry, and long-term strategy unfold, with all other factors being affected by that core choice.
The French Laundry
Q: Do you think the play-in stats should count in official records?
There's a complex calculus around what counts for salary and awards; the conversation centers on how the NBA's rules shape competitive incentives and whether these edge-case games deserve official statistical recognition.
The French Laundry
Q: What drew you to the Devin Booker and James Turrell feature, Jared?
The opportunity to explore how Turrell's light installations affect Booker's perspective and the broader conversation about how athletes connect with art and space; it became a deeply personal and cinematic piece that reveals inner motivations and awe.
MVP Conversation Bar Rescue
Q: Jason, what do you think about the idea of a two-league season to separate contenders from tankers?
I think a two-league concept could solve some incentive problems, but it creates new logistical and revenue challenges and might disrupt fan engagement across the full season; any such system would need careful balance between development opportunities and competitive integrity.
