  • A great AV podcast!

Really enjoyed the first episode of Autonomy Insiders with Charlotte Eisner from Bolt. Nice balance of strategy and real-world detail, especially around Bolt’s partnerships and their long-term robotaxi ambitions. Didn’t feel overly hyped or surface-level, which is refreshing for this space.

I’ve followed Daniel’s newsletter for a while, and it’s great to see him bring that same thoughtful, operator-focused analysis into podcast form.

Looking forward to future episodes. Solid addition to the AV... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

$41 Billion in Physical AI: What Investors Need to Know About Robotaxis & Humanoid Robots
Q: How do you see the OEM and AV ecosystem evolving in terms of partnerships and supply chain dynamics?
OEMs will likely partner with one or more autonomous providers to scale production, while AV developers gain access to mass-market platforms and testing environments; the ecosystem will see more AI-native compute, centralized architectures, and increased collaboration with traditional suppliers and new AI-focused chipmakers, reshaping the supplier landscape.
$41 Billion in Physical AI: What Investors Need to Know About Robotaxis & Humanoid Robots
Q: What are the key milestones investors should watch to gauge progress in AV and physical AI?
Investors should track reductions in hardware costs toward automotive thresholds, expanding regulatory approvals, and demonstrations of positive fleet-level economics beyond short-term revenue, along with evidence of cross-form-factor platform maturity and efficiency improvements.
Germany's Only Full-Stack Level 4 AV Startup: Inside MOTOR Ai
Q: How do you view sovereignty and Germany's role in autonomous driving compared to US or Chinese players?
Sovereignty means independent tech stack development and owning critical components. While there's no guaranteed market edge, owning the value chain in Europe allows safer, cost-efficient deployments and a trusted, local infrastructure for future autonomous fleets.
Germany's Only Full-Stack Level 4 AV Startup: Inside MOTOR Ai
Q: Can you walk us through the core architecture of MOTOR Ai and how it supports safety?
We use a modular system with layered safety proofs, not a full end-to-end network. Safety is achieved by proving each layer—perception, localization, planning, and control—meets defined reliability, including a quantified failure rate, while maintaining a world model to handle unknowns.
Inside MOIA: Autonomous Turnkey Solution for Europe
Q: How are you approaching EU type approval and the path to removing safety drivers in Europe?
Removal of safety drivers hinges on achieving European type approval; it requires demonstrating robust safety across many edge cases, and MOIA is working closely with authorities to define the required mileage and testing criteria for scalable, driverless operation.
