  • Review of podcast with Vicki Gold

I listened to a wonderful podcast with Vicki Gold, a physical therapist, about living life purposefully and staying agile- and it was informative and so interesting. As someone who feels she lives with PT exercises, I learned a lot! The host Roxanne is terrific and I fully recommend this podcast- Authentic Living!

Authenticity and Resilience: Leadership Insights with Deri Latimer
Q: What would you define as resilience, and how would you explain it to a listener who wants a practical takeaway?
Resilience is a set of practical tools to live a good life, not just bouncing back from adversity but actively building capabilities we can use in any situation, much like brushing your teeth or exercising to maintain mental well-being.
Authenticity and Resilience: Leadership Insights with Deri Latimer
Q: What has shifted in how organizations think about resilience compared to mental health, and how has that affected your work?
There's been a move from focusing on stress and illness to building resilience as a proactive set of tools and resources that people can use daily. Education reduced stigma and allowed leadership to talk about well-being as a spectrum, which makes it easier to implement practical strategies that improve both wellbeing and performance.
Youth Mental Health: Rafael's Advocacy, Mindfulness, and Tools for Authentic Living
Q: How is the book Fundamental Life Tools meant to be used in classrooms or home settings?
The book is a practical guide that presents seven core tools and emphasizes daily practice; it's designed to be read a few pages at a time to metabolize the concepts, with activities and illustrations that connect the tools to real-life situations for both kids and adults.
Youth Mental Health: Rafael's Advocacy, Mindfulness, and Tools for Authentic Living
Q: What makes Indivisible Arts' approach unique in teaching mindfulness to youth?
Rafael explains that they combine hands-on creativity with structured tools, teaching kids to observe thoughts, visualize goals, and practice daily, rather than relying on traditional classroom methods alone; the program is co-created with students to stay resonant and practical.
