  • Atari is back!

As a Gen-Xer who spent many hours with my Atari 2600 and 1200XL, it is fantastic to see this company surging ahead again. I use my Atari VCS nearly every day and love most of the new games they are releasing.

This podcast is so great for us true fans. They are always interesting and go very deep with the topics and guests.

  • Great Podcast!

Hello! I wanted to write in to tell you that you’re doing a great job with this podcast, and that I’m very excited for the release of Centipede: Recharged as well as any future installments of the Atari Recharged series.

To me, last week’s episode about designing the gameplay of Centipede Recharged has been the most entertaining episode yet! It sounds like the game is shaping up to be something quite addicting. I will admit that I personally didn’t find Missile Command Recharged to be completel... more

  • Great Podcast !! Can’t wait for the next episode

Thanks for sharing the music aspect of game design. Can’t wait to pickup Centipede - Recharge on September 29th and try it on my AtariVCS using my XArcade TankStink (with trackball)

This podcast is focused on the Recharge Series of games but it would be awesome if you brought in other developers that are working on AtariVCS titles.

Having some additional interviews would really pump up the excitement for upcoming titles on the AtariVCS. You could even bring some of the Atari developers ... more

Episode 35 - Atari Design Through the Ages w/ Tim Lapetino
Q: What is your favorite part about being a creative director at Atari?
One, the people are just really great people. Everybody's awesome at the company. But I think the other thing is when you're a designer, you're moving up the ranks, you get to work on Atari and Intellivision. You're helping to shepherd one of the most recognizable brands in American pop culture.
Episode 49 - RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 on PS and Xbox w/ Muteki
Q: How did you get started in the gaming industry?
I got started in the industry probably around the time this game came out in 2001, when I got my first job at Monster Games in Minnesota.
Episode 46 - Adventures in Writing w/ DE's Dan Amrich
Q: How do you feel about the Shake Shack franchise explosion?
I never ate at Shake Shack while I was in New York, I always went to delis instead.

Q: What was your first experience with VR?
My very first VR experience was the now legendary virtuality arcade game, Dactyl Nightmare.

Q: What was the biggest learning over the course of those three years of development?
We've learned to program better, design games, and handle the complexities of releasing a game on multiple platforms.
