Terrific, insightful review of one of the most famous gay erotic films in cinema history. The making of the Boys in the Sand and the impact it had on the participants, audiences and adult film industry are thoroughly explored.

  • One of a kind!

I have always wished I was born twenty years earlier so I could have been a part of the 80s and 90s gay scene and this podcast effortlessly transports me to that time with every episode. The podcast is not just about gay porn but documents the life style and realities of gay men that time which I feel my generation has largely forgotten. Eagerly waiting for your Canadian screenings.

  • Queer history, previously unheard

I can’t emphasize strongly enough how important this podcast - and Elizabeth Purchell’s entire Ask Any Buddy project - is to queer history. For the most part, in the 1960s and ‘70s, the only queer films being made were in fact pornography, and this podcast is in the process of examining 100+ of said films. The research and writing involved is incredible, the vibe is very conversational, and it’s never not entertaining. A must-listen.
