  • Great FAB podcast!

Wonderful balance of thoughtful analysis of the game while still leaving room for both of the hosts’ personalities to come through. Episodes are in depth but always well paced, with a high ratio of content that is directly about the game.

  • The best Spikey FaB Pod

Hayden and Brendan are great at digging deep, and the way they try to take advice about specific decks/metas and glean more broadly applicable heuristics makes this one of my favourite strategy and improvement tools. Swag.

Arsenal Pass EP 271 - Traps and Other Traps in Flesh and Blood
Q: Majestic weapons: should they be decoupled for CC and Limited, or kept together?
They debate whether decoupling would help balance and flavor while keeping limited and CC experiences distinct, suggesting a need for better alignment of power with format identity.
Arsenal Pass EP 271 - Traps and Other Traps in Flesh and Blood
Q: Should the one flow be put directly on each hero, and does the answer change between CC and Silver Age?
The hosts discuss balancing CC versus Silver Age by considering different formats, with emphasis on how flow and resource generation might differ between versions and how majestic weapons could shift power dynamics.
Arsenal Pass EP 268 - What Happens in Classic Constructed with Omens?
Q: What is the perceived power level of Omens in CC compared to previous sets?
The power level is seen as solid and respectable, not overpowered, with depth in the new heroes requiring sustainable play and careful deck construction rather than exploding power, and the set being described as around average to above average overall.
Arsenal Pass EP 263 - The State of Skill in Flesh and Blood
Q: What defines skill expression in Flesh and Blood today?
Skill expression is the number of meaningful decision points a player can navigate, with closer alignment to optimal lines indicating higher skill, and it encompasses deck building, turn sequencing, and resource management.
Arsenal Pass EP 264 - Where are we at with Silver Age? W/The Teklo Foundry
Q: Question, how should I approach the struggle of being scared and intimidated by playing a hero that I see so many skilled players navigate?
Marco emphasizes that learning is a process and that beginners should embrace their own learning journey, taking notes and consuming learning resources to build understanding gradually. He suggests focusing on small, actionable takeaways from each session and recognizing that even pros make mistakes, which helps reduce intimidation and keeps motivation high.
