- Informative but needs less ads
While informative to listen to, it would be great if there were less ads. Or if the ads must remain at their current amount, at least make the episodes longer. Two ads wouldn’t be so bad if the episodes had a roughly 6 minute run time and covered multiple stories. It’d also help if the ads were at about the same volume as the news report the episode covered rather than nearly twice the volume.

I used to love the AP News update podcast. Now that you have switched to single updates that are 30-60 seconds long I have to unsubscribe. First, this is exploding my “latest episodes list”, filling up the queue with a bunch of tiny updates. Secondly, I now need to listen to an ad in each one of those micro updates and it’s just too much - the ratio of ad time to play time is now way too high. This used to be a fantastic way to receive news updates without the bias of the other networks, just the facts. But there are way too many sports bulletins now, i really don’t care about every MLB game that was played yesterday, and skipping these stories has become too time consuming. Then you throw in 30 seconds to 90 seconds of ads to every bulletin, and i sadly need to unsubscribe.

Such a nuance to have ads on EVERY SINGLE PODCAST. Such an extreme disruption when trying to catch up. Major turn off. Plus they’re saved at different volumes so the news is quiet and then the ads come SCREAMING at you, often in foreign languages! More often than not ads are three times longer than the news stories themselves. Either get rid of the ads, or create an add-free subscription.
