  • Atari computing is so interesting

This is a great monthly (or so) podcast about the happenings in Atari computing from the 80s. They cover some history, new discoveries and products and the fan community.

As someone who never used an Atari computer I enjoy listening anyway. So that’s an endorsement if there ever is one.

My only caveat is the audio quality isn’t always great. I wish whichever of the hosts is using a gamer headset would get a proper mic to record their audio. It would be much better. Keep up the good work fell... more

  • Excellent podcast

What makes the podcast great is it’s not professionally produced and has the essence of attending an old Atari user group in person.

  • Leave your left wing politics at the door

These tools are suddenly trying to make Mastodon a thing when it will never be anything more than a cesspool filled with leftists. They seem to have an issue with Twitter not suppressing speech they don’t like and Elon’a political views which clearly enrage these leftists.

  • Timely Beginning

When I first started listening to this podcast, I was just searching for the first time for anything related to Atari. I was pleasantly surprised that I found one and that it had recently started. That was nearly 10 years ago!

I am especially encouraged listening to the interviews. I was glad that 3-hour long regular shows containing interviews were reset back to their usual length and the interviews turned into their own high quality shows.

I was also impressed when I heard about the 10-line ... more

ANTIC Episode 126 - All Atari All the Time
Q: How does Paulo view the ABIQ contest and its deadlines?
Paulo shows enthusiasm for the ABIQ contest and the opportunity to raise awareness and contribute to Atari projects, even though deadlines can be tight and depend on time zones, emphasizing the community and bragging rights over monetary rewards.
ANTIC Episode 126 - All Atari All the Time
Q: What are the debugging options when using FujiSan with FastBase and VS Code extensions?
There isn't a full-featured inline debugger in the basic FujiSan package; you can log and inspect, but for more advanced debugging you rely on the VS Code extension when available, which will deploy and debug through the connected environment, while the core experience focuses on running and testing quickly.
ANTIC Episode 126 - All Atari All the Time
Q: Paulo, could you summarize what FujiSan does and how it fits with FujiNet and NetSIO?
FujiSan started as a cross-platform Atari 8-bit emulator with a Qt-based UI and then began bundling FujiNet so users could enable NetSIO in the background, making it convenient to run FujiNet and access FujiNet features directly from the emulator on all three major desktop platforms.
ANTIC Episode 125 - Combining SQL with Fun (and Poo)
Q: What do you have? Maybe you said this, I'm sorry. Besides the Atari and the FujiNet, what machine is doing the heavy lifting outside?
The Cube SQL software is doing the heavy lifting.
ANTIC Interview 454 - Steve Kranish, Parker Brothers Frogger
Q: How did you get into computers?
I got involved in computers in about 10th grade through a local time-sharing company.
