  • A can’t miss Gator sports podcast, but the sound

Here are the two main issues: It doesn’t sound as though Pat’s microphone is turned on when it’s just him talking. If it is turned on there’s something wrong with the set up. His voice comes across like he’s in a cavern. Mainly it sounds like it’s being recorded straight into the computer’s built in mic. When he has a guest on via zoom, he usually puts a headset on with a real mic and the quality immediately improves on his end, but way too much and too loud. And then the guest is usually way to... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode #550 ~ Errict Rhett
Q: Errict, how did you get from Pembroke Pines to Gainesville and into UF football?
I chose football because I wanted to help my family out of tough living conditions, explored several colleges to find a coach who would give me a real shot at running back, and ultimately seized the opportunity at UF after being recruited and given a chance to play offense.
Episode #546 ~ Peter Burns
Q: You were okay with LSU hiring Will Wade?
Peter Burns signals cautious optimism, acknowledging the realities of NIL money and booster engagement, while hoping Wade can still navigate NCAA guidelines.
Episode #548 ~ Carlos Alvarez - The Cuban Comet
Q: What was going through your mind when you caught the famous pass against FSU?
Alvarez explains that he trusted the route and the quarterback, focused on staying clean and avoiding a would-be tackle, and felt the moment was about executing a senior leadership-driven plan rather than personal glory.
Episode #542 ~ Ross Dellenger
Q: What impact do ghost transfers have on college football rosters and governance?
They create uncertainty around when and how players can move, prompting new rules and penalties to deter outside-the-window transfers and encourage orderly movement.
Episode #539 ~ HBC Steve Spurrier
Q: What are your thoughts on the SEC Championship game potentially going away?
Coaches may not be sad about it, but without the conference championship, the emphasis shifts to regular-season play and overall records; the historical context shows conferences used to crown champions through their schedules, and there's a sense of adaptation to a more open postseason framework.
