  • Nat: say less, you bulldozer.

The information learned from this podcast is valuable but Nat uses 200 words when 20 would suffice. He will ask a question then cut himself off to ask the same question in a different way, it’s infuriating. I skip through when he starts talking half the time and he is the only reason I don’t recommend this pod

  • Strong on Energy, Less Nuanced on Middle East Coverage

I’ve really enjoyed American Power, particularly the discussions on energy and geopolitics. Mr. Global’s analysis of global energy markets is consistently excellent. As someone interested in solar power and energy efficiency, I appreciate that the podcast looks at the entire energy landscape rather than treating issues through a purely ideological lens. The recent discussions surrounding Iran have been especially timely and insightful.

  • Nat ruins the expertd

2 experts who have actually done something in life - and an MC who thinks he knows things from Tictok and his only claim to fame is living in NYC - which he reminds everyone on every show…get rid of this do nothing - know nothing - agenda laced non-expert…

“Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad”. Chad and Mr Global are excellent experts and I learn a lot from them. Nat is just too much. I agree with probably everything he does, but he’s interjecting his opinion too much and is somewhat irritating. I wish he’d simply ask questions and let the experts discuss.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

American Power Extra: What Even Is Trump's Foreign Policy?
Q: What should be done to actually fix this?
Prioritize one clear objective in Iran, rebuild ammunition stocks regionally, avoid concessions that trade readiness for nothing, separate alliances from transactional behavior, and pick one lane on China to prevent contradictory policies.
Sen. Martin Heinrich on the AI Race America Might Not Be Ready For
Q: Do we currently have the generation and transmission capacity to win the AI race while protecting ratepayers?
The panel notes that we cannot rely solely on a numbers game; instead, a robust grid, permitting reform, and a diversified energy mix (including nuclear and renewables) are essential to scale AI infrastructure responsibly.
Ambassador Julie Smith on NATO's Trust Crisis
Q: What would you like to see NATO spend more on or focus more on, especially given Ukraine needs and the possibility of having a less reliable United States in the future?
She suggests focused European capability development across air defense, armor, ammunition, lift, and especially defense production speed; she also cautions about cybersecurity, hybrid threats, and undersea security, urging a balanced approach that strengthens alliance resilience without over-relying on the U.S. alone.
Ambassador Julie Smith on NATO's Trust Crisis
Q: Over the next 12 to 24 months, what should NATO, what should we be watching to determine whether Ankara was truly a success, and what should NATO be doing or producing that would be driving success for the future?
Ambassador Smith highlights that success hinges on how spending translates into coordinated capabilities and a stronger collective defense, rather than simply hitting a spending target; she emphasizes Europe's need to develop capabilities across domains, avoid duplicative spending, and pursue practical, joint initiatives that strengthen deterrence and resilience.
Rep. Adam Smith on the War Congress Didn’t Approve
Q: What do you hope President Trump and Xi Jinping discuss at the upcoming summit, and what outcomes do you expect?
He voiced optimism for detente with China and a more cooperative relationship, but warned about backroom deals and the potential for misaligned incentives if policy is driven by personal or short-term gains.
