John is a phenomenal host shining a spotlight on rising artists, giving them a wonderful
platform to share their music & stories. Every single episode is worth listening to.
I learned about this podcast from the host John, who is from the same hometown as me. So happy he shared it with me because I have loved listening on my commute, discovering local music, hearing the amazing stories behind the musicians and getting to listen to their songs. I particularly enjoyed listening to Hope & Things and recently saw them perform live at Lizard Lounge in Cambridge. It was such a great experience! Thanks so much John for introducing me to the local music scene!
Shea's Podcast sheds light on the local music scene in a unique way: Almost Famous is an opportunity to both hear the tunes of local artists and find out what goes on behind-the-scenes in an artist's life, what made them who they are today. My favorite tool to find out what's going on in the Boston music scene!
I've been listening to this podcast for about a year now and it's one of my absolute favorites. If you like music or even just like supporting local music, this is the podcast for you.
Whether you're a musician being featured on this podcast, or a listener looking for local tunes, you will be simultaneously blown away and put at ease by John Shea's presence. He's extremely welcoming and supportive of local musicians. As an artist, this is a great outlet for sharing your songs and behind-the-scenes stories. As a listener, this is a great station to tune into for the latest local tunes! Highly recommended to both sides :)
