  • A kind of stark radiance

SFUltra is the kind of show that doesn’t review books that you could think “yeah I could write that”, but blasts you with the stuff of stars that revels in your insignificance in the Universe.

  • Wonderfully weird sci-fi reviews

Sean McTiernan’s new project SFUltra is a treasure trove of weird, alternative sci-fi reads, filtered through the host’s always insightful-yet-irreverent commentary. Can’t recommend enough for anyone interested in transgressive/experimental sci-fi (or literature in general), this show has hugely broadened my conception of the genre.

  • [SFULTRA] The beast at his best

Sean McTiernan, the rambling man himself, finally gives himself permission to get excited about science fiction. That happens; it's fun.

Deep Territory #4 - Passion Of New Eve - Angela Carter
Q: Was Angela Carter's portrayal of characters in 'The Passion Of New Eve' what you expected?
It's hard to say, I thought the voice was very effective, having a total egotism of Brett Easton Ellis, like a glamour narrator.
Deep Territory #4 - Passion Of New Eve - Angela Carter
Q: So you don't have much of a history with Angela Carter?
No, I read Bloody Chamber, I think in college.
