Sasha and her team lost their marbles, ruining a legacy of good work, mixing Oscar punditry with politics
I used to love listening to Sasha leading up to awards season. Her show has devolved into a echo chamber attaching the leftist hive mind that she feels so wronged her. She and her cohosts draw conclusions from movies they haven’t even seen based on their bias about perceived political agendas. It’s exhausting, and she no longer can tolerate other voices that challenge her opinions. There are too many other podcasts that offer balance and escape to bother listening to this one.
For an awards show, as the episode titles will have you believe, the hosts spend a considerable amount of time bashing fellow critics and awards commentators (by name in many cases). The comedy is that they swim in the same hive mindset they’re criticizing. They really come across as bitter and go off on political digressions consistently. There’s a decent podcast in there somewhere if it wasn’t for all this.
The degradation of this and Sasha will be studied.
Tried to listen to pod about One Battle After Another but it was mostly the host complaining about a movie she hadn’t seen yet. Most of the podcast was this bizarre angry rant about what she thought the movie could be about. It was all the more uncomfortable because what made her mad was all about race. Like she could not stop thinking about race and didn’t like the movie (that, again, she hadn’t seen yet) because she thought it also dealt with race but not in the way she wanted.
