This is the Podcast of Alan Averill aka Nemtheanga, vocalist of the Irish Metal band Primordial for almost the last three decades! In today's episode I discuss taking on the music industry at it's own game, using the parameters, platforms and apps to your advantage through the rise of the band Castle Rat, how it works for some and not for others, a brief skirt through the disast... more
My 'I listened to 50 bands' podcast a week ago raised some eyebrows and caused in equal measures mirth and annoyance but over the last week an album has come along that showed me clearly what was missing from so much modern metal, am I fair to judge ... more

Alan and I may disagree on many things politically but I absolutely love this podcast. It’s wonderful to hear someone’s unfiltered thoughts on politics and get a perspective outside of my bubble and it’s also great to listen to Alan ramble about the state of metal. Feels like listening to an old friend.

Fantastic podcast
The best metal podcast in history. I could listen to this all day: Alan comes across as a lovely, warm guy (especially for a self-professed grumpy pessimist) and, being the same age and growing up in the same underground scene as myself, I can say with authority he captures the spirit better than anyone else I’ve listened to.
Never heard Primoridal, to my shame, but this podcast is unmissable. Please never stop Alan, you’re very, very good at this.
