Great story, great voice acting. If you enjoy a paranormal tinged investigation which is well paced and well written you will enjoy this.
Part X-Files, part Twin Peaks, this show tries to strike a balance between humor and horror which works more often than it does not. Stoker himself is a great character and compellingly portrayed. I found myself feeling lost more than a few times but that is just as likely my fault for not listening more intently than that of the otherwise intriguing and unpredictable narrative.
This series is reminiscent of shows like X-files and and Fringe. The episodes generally stand alone but are connected by an overarching storyline. The plots are soaked in an amusing mix of science and the paranormal. (The mushroom episode was particularly, er, engaging.) I can't quite give the story 5 stars due to some gaping believability issues, but that hasn't stopped me from enjoying the series. I hope they crank out a few more episodes, if only to wrap things up!
I was intrigued by the premise, and thought it was going to be just a simple 'monster of the week' story but it grows into something much more and is a real under-rated sci-fi gem.
