  • What a great laugh.

Every time I see the notification pop up that a podcast has arrived I get excited as I know I’m going to have an hour of informative and slightly nonsensical agricultural information.

Wish Andrew would put on a thicker accent, it’s so sexy.

  • Volumes

    Good content,

but when listening to in the tractor difficult to hear play both as the volume of the presenters is louder for one than the other so it’s too loud in the cab for one person and too quiet for the other

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The two food groups - wine and lamb
Q: What kind of things could be classified as a non-tariff trade barrier?
Non-tariff trade barriers can be unexpected requirements that aren't tariffs, like unique testing requirements for imports.
The two food groups - wine and lamb
Q: What do you think about the volatility being the new normal?
I think we're more exposed to it now due to globalisation and the interconnectedness of markets.
'On an even Kealy' with Emma Kealy MP.
Q: How do you feel about the recent movement towards renewable energy in Victoria?
Emma acknowledges that while some in the agricultural sector see the potential benefits of renewable energy projects as supplemental income, there is frustration about the lack of community involvement in decision making.
Australian agriculture hitting new highs
Q: What do you think is the biggest risk for agriculture in the next five to ten years?
The biggest risk is our ability to deal with increasing variability in seasons, which could affect long-term resilience and profitability.
AgWatchersX EP6: Why are grain prices low, grain fed beef on the rise
Q: Do you think that's, do you think we're going to see like, I know we've talked about it before about increasing sheep feedlots, but do you think like with cattle, we're going to see a further expansion of it?
Yeah, it's not going to be, it's been slow and steady presently, and if you look at the longer-term trend over the last two decades, we were about 25% getting turned off out of a feedlot and 75% grass finished, whereas now we're at that 39%.
