  • Awesome podcast

I listen to podcasts every day, and this is fast becoming a favorite. As an unabashed AFOL, it’s so gratifying to have a safe space to revel in the Easter eggs and idiosyncrasies of the world’s best “toy”. Their Instagram page is also worth checking out, they do some glorious MOCs. Well done, guys.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What in the world is LGMS? w/ Monty’s Trains - AFOLs Welcome: Episode 113
Q: What is LGMS, and what role does that play in the LEGO train community?
LGMS stands for L-Gauge Modular System. It provides an overarching standard that lets different LEGO train modules from various clubs connect together at shows, similar to N-Track in conventional model railroading. It's not about replacing what clubs do, but enabling easier interoperability so modules can link up across geographies.
LEGO News & Brick Deals - AFOLs Welcome: Episode 111
Q: How did 2Brick2Handle get into posting LEGO news and deals?
He started from a viral post about a F40 Ferrari and gradually moved into consolidating the best upcoming sets and then expanding to news and reviews as part of a data-driven, community-focused content strategy.
Is there any place for AI in LEGO? w/ Red Suit Studs- AFOLs Welcome: Episode 109
Q: What is your experience with AI in your content creation, Tanner?
I don't use AI in my content for creative output; I've only used it briefly for a wedding website blurb and I'm generally wary of relying on it for art, preferring human-driven process and planning.
Brick Value Index - AFOLs Welcome: Episode 95
Q: What are some future features or metrics you'd like to add to BrickValue index?
The creator expects many possible metrics, including spare pieces, piece rarity, color variations, and potentially additional dimensions of value that can be added as the data ecosystem around LEGO inventories grows, while acknowledging scope creep and data availability challenges.
Brick Value Index - AFOLs Welcome: Episode 95
Q: Would you say there are limitations to this model compared with price-to-part metrics?
Yes, there are limitations such as missing pricing for licensed minifigs and sticker sheets; the model uses conservative assumptions in those cases, but it provides a broader view of set value by focusing on piece-level value rather than just the overall price-to-part ratio.
