Trademark Antiques
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring jewelry artists or dealers?
Do what you love, marry your passion with your work, and be committed to doing thorough research and transparent communication with customers to set realistic expectations and maintain trust.
Trademark Antiques
Q: What is one piece that stayed with you after you sold it?
A noteworthy estate piece with an intricate Riker Brothers bracelet set in rose gold and platinum, exceptional in design and provenance, which they later felt should have stayed with them, illustrating how powerful a single discovery can be.
Trademark Antiques
Q: What makes your approach to evaluating pieces unique?
We combine traditional connoisseurship with laboratory techniques like XRF and Raman spectroscopy to fingerprint materials, dating enamels, and confirm authenticity, then balance this with the stories and provenance of each piece to tell a fuller history.
Trademark Antiques
Q: Where did the name Trademark Antiques come from?
The name grew from a mashup of Jessica's and Jason's professional histories—Trademark because Jason worked at the Patent and Trademark Office, and Antiques to reflect their love of older objects—and it started as Jessie Anne Incorporated before evolving into Trademark Antiques as they expanded beyond consulting work.
Trademark Antiques
Q: Can you tell me a little bit about your background and how you met?
We grew up in Pennsylvania, both into antiques from an early age, met in college, and started collecting and buying together. Our initial forays were budget-conscious auctions and then evolving into a full-time partnership, combining Jason's science background with Jessica's passion for history to build Trademark Antiques.
