I came upon this podcast about 6 months ago. It has been feeding my spirit in a way that I was not prepared for. I must say that I have fallen in love with the Tanach in a way that I did not know it was possible. The richness of the content has bended my mind and heart in a way that has caused an entire new lens into the love and care of God. I’m recommending it to everyone who wants a deeper walk with God, both Jew and Christian.

Thank you, Emu Shalev and Rabbi Fohrman! This has been an incredible journey. I was absolutely hooked in every season. I hope you bring this podcast back! You are both so insightful, witty, funny, and thought provoking. I am truly inspired.
I found this podcast through BEMA, one of the Rabbi’s students (highly recommended). After listening to Bema’s teaching on Genesis I had to get answers to the burning questions that were presented. A deep-dive Torah study podcast where hosts unpack subtle intertextual connections, language nuances, and pattern-seeking analysis across biblical texts. Episodes cover themes like Exodus, manna, the shofar, Sinai, and cycles of memory, trauma, redemption, and worship, all through rigorous close reading and cross-disciplinary analogies. The format combines expert scholarship with accessible dialogue, appealing to Jews and Christians who want a more careful, liturgical, and intellectually rich exploration of Scripture. A standout aspect is the collaborative dynamic between a seasoned Torah scholar and a thoughtful co-host that often foregrounds original language and cross-text connections to illuminate meaning beneath the surface of the text... more
